Athletics
Welsh Valley's athletic program embodies the school's participatory spirit. Students are encouraged to explore their sporting interests through interscholastic athletics, intramurals and fitness-focused events and clubs. We believe it is critical that students have diverse opportunities to develop an appreciation for and commitment to wellness.
Additionally, the physical and mental challenges afforded through competitive athletics, in team and individual contexts, help foster leadership skills, self-confidence and strong interpersonal relationships -- assets associated with productive, active lives.
Key goals of the athletic program:
- Physical and emotional wellness
- Sportsmanship
- Skill development
- Character development
- Teamwork
- Expanded knowledge and appreciation of chosen sports
Above all, the mission of the athletics program at Welsh Valley is to provide students with a safe, enjoyable and rewarding learning experience.
Fans
These interscholastic teams participate in a large volume of games during the year. It is great fun for the parents and friends to cheer for WV's athletes. Spectators at Welsh Valley contests are encouraged to participate actively in sporting events, but within the guidelines of "appropriate conduct". Those persons violating these guidelines will be asked to leave the premises. Learn more about protocol on Welsh Valley's Digital Sports website.
Thank you for supporting WVMS athletics!
