K & New Student Orientation

Dear Families:

We are pleased, and excited, to welcome your family as members of our school community for the coming year. In order to help your child have a successful introduction to Penn Valley School, we invite you and your incoming PVE student to join us for an orientation session. The sessions are listed below:

Orientation for New Kindergarten Children & Parents: Thursday, May 9, 2019:  9:30am OR 12:30pm

Orientation for New Students in Grades 1-5 & Parents: Friday, May 17, 2019: 9:30am

The orientations are scheduled by session. Each session is approximately 45-60 minutes. We ask once you are registered to attend LMSD, you register online to schedule your session. To reserve your spot at orientation, please complete the online form by following the steps below. During the kindergarten sessions, the children will go to the kindergarten classrooms and participate in fun activities. The adults will remain in the auditorium with select school staff to cover important information and answer questions. It is helpful if you tell the children about this before the session in order to prepare them for the transition.

Steps to register online:

  1. Access the LMSD website at www.lmsd.org
  2. Select ‘Schools’ then ‘Penn Valley Elementary’
  3. Select ‘Parent Info’
  4. Select ‘K & New Student Orientation’
  5. Locate the date/time you prefer to attend and complete the required information
  6. Click ‘Submit’; if completed successfully this message will appear ‘The form has been submitted successfully.’

A separate Bus Orientation is provided for all Kindergarten students before the official start of school. Additional information on this session will be communicated to families in late August.

We provide a “Sneak Peek” in late August for new families in Grades 1 to 5 and in early September for all new Kindergarten families. Additional information on these sessions will be communicated to families in late August as well.

We look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Scott Mitchell
