Penn Valley students and their families learned about the diverse cultures represented at their school during a Cultural Heritage Night organized by the Home & School Association. 

The event on November 9. 2023, was contained to the school gym, but gave guests the opportunity to experience foods, crafts, dress and history from around the world. 

Some displays reflected locations families traveled from long ago. Others reflected the homes of families who have moved to the area more recently. Penn Valley has 120 students who are multilingual and whose families speak 41 different languages in their homes.

The Cultural Heritage Night is an example of #LMSDBuildingBelonging, as students enjoyed this fun opportunity to learn about and to celebrate the diversity found within their school.
