Dr. Yanni visits Penn Valley First Graders

As he continues his Meet-and-Greet tour, Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni visited Penn Valley Elementary School's first-grade students on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023. 

The students from six classes gathered in three different classrooms to hear Dr. Yanni read three books about going to school and about being good and supportive friends. They also asked Dr. Yanni questions and were very quick to recognize and point out when Dr. Yanni missed a word that they could see on the pages!

The students shared with Dr. Yanni their understanding that someone you might not like at first can turn into a very good friend and how important it is for friends to help one another overcome obstacles and engage in activities together.
