Free or Reduced Program
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Lower Merion School District offers healthy meals every school day to enhance the academic learning experience of students.
Breakfast costs:
- $1.75 for Elementary
- $2.00 for Middle
- $2.25 for High School
Lunch costs:
- $3.00 for Elementary
- $3.75-$3.85 for Middle
- $3.90-$4.00 for High School
Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FREE AND REDUCED PRICE MEALS
Please apply online to see if you qualify. Only one application needs to be submitted per household, even if your children attend more than one school in LMSD. The application must be filled out completely to certify your children for free or reduced lunch price school meals. Please follow the step-by-step instructions online. In addition to the application, a Sharing of Information Waiver must be signed to share your status of Free or Reduced with other departments in the District that may waive certain fees for your participation in the lunch program.
If you qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch, please click here to print out the waiver, indicate yes or no for sharing, sign and return to Lower Merion Nutritional Services, 301 E. Montgomery Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003.

Notice of Direct Certification
If you have received a Notice of Direct Certification for free meals, do not complete the application. But do let the school know if any children in your household are not listed on the Notice of Direct Certification letter you received.
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD-3027), found online here or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complain form, call 866-632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
