Merion Third Graders Cast their Ballots

They're a bit young to vote in the presidential election, but Merion third graders took their turns voting on issues important to them during a mock election exercise on November 4, 2024.

The students filled out secret ballots, voting on questions including favorite recess activity, snack, lunch, field trip location, class pet and special area class.

Once they voted behind colorful cardboard voting booths, they dropped their completed ballots into ballot boxes and awaited the election results.

The winners were:

  • Recess Activity: Soccer
  • Lunch: Pizza
  • Snack: Popcorn
  • Classroom Pet: Hamster
  • Special Area: Gym
  • Field Trip: Aquarium
