LMHS Marks Beginning of Winter Athletics & Activities with Maroon Madness

Lower Merion High School recently hosted their annual Maroon Madness festivities - a community pep rally for winter athletics and activities featuring food, music, live entertainment and performances. There was a great turnout as community members came out in droves to support this year's event, which serves as the official start to Lower Merion's winter season. All proceeds from this year's Maroon Madness benefited The Sean A. Hughes Children's Trust in honor of the recent tragic passing of Lower Merion's longtime, beloved principal.

Program highlights from this year's event included the introduction of the boys and girls basketball teams, an intra-squad scrimmage, student dances, on-court fan contests, musical entertainment and raffles for merchandise. The evening also featured a special performance from the Philadelphia 76er's Drum Line and Dance Team, who put on a high-energy and highly entertaining show for Aces Nation.

Lower Merion head coaches Gregg Downer and Erin Laney addressed the crowd and thanked everyone in attendance for their support. With all of the remarks and introductions complete, the Aces took the hardwood for a fun-filled and competitive scrimmage, which was interspersed with performances from various clubs and teams as well as on-court contests for prizes.
