This year, for the first time, members of the Lower Merion High School cheer team are attending the UCA Cheer Camp in the Poconos. And, for the first time, they've cheered their way to a Superior Gold Ribbon.

The 22 cheer team members competed against seven other teams in their evaluation group and were awarded top honors for outstanding technique and crowd-leading skills.

The award came just one day after the team learned a new routine for the competition. They were evaluated on a chant and a cheer exhibiting their crowd-leading abilities utilizing stunts and signs. 

You'll find this award-winning cheer team, under the direction of head coach Jalyne Poles, on the sidelines of LM football games, pep rallies and other events throughout the fall.
