United Soccer Coaches recently recognized the Lower Merion High School boys soccer program with the prestigious Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award, honoring high school teams competing in the fall season.
This award celebrates teams that uphold the highest standards of fair play, sportsmanship and adherence to the rules of the game. Teams are evaluated based on their ratio of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards to games played. For example, a ratio of 5 cards over 20 games (0.25 or 25%) qualifies for a Silver Award. This fall, 53 boys’ and girls’ teams across the country earned Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze distinctions.
Under the leadership of head coach Nico Severini, the Aces exemplify playing the game the right way, as evidenced by this honor. Beyond their commitment to sportsmanship, they are also among Pennsylvania’s elite high school boys’ soccer programs, consistently contending for league, district and state championships!
