Aces' Brian Yi Named Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week

PA Prep Live recently announced that Lower Merion High School tennis ace Brian Yi has been named the Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week following a particularly successful stretch of the spring season in which the maroon and white won both the Central Athletic League (CAL) and District One titles for the third consecutive year!

The junior has been an integral member of the Lower Merion tennis program, which has lost only one match since Yi joined the team three years ago. He won the Central League singles championship this spring and placed fourth in the District 1 3A singles tournament. Two years ago, he partnered with his older brother Justin to win the PIAA 3A state doubles championship. Yi, who is undefeated in high school dual matches, is just as good in the classroom as he is on the court where he maintains a perfect grade-point average.

When not acing serves and exams, Yi volunteers his time at Penn Medicine Radnor as well as teaching tennis to autistic children at “Aceing Autism” of Drexel Hill. He also works with other high school students to serve and improve under-privileged communities in the greater Philadelphia region as a Germination Project Fellow.
