The Black Student Unions (BSU) of Harriton and Lower Merion high schools recently hosted the third annual Shades of Black showcase—a vibrant celebration of Black History Month that brought students, staff, families and friends together in the LMHS auditorium and Aces’ Atrium for an evening of artistry, entertainment and education.
This year’s showcase featured an array of talented performers, including the Libby Spencer Dancers, LM Cheer Team, D.A.T. Dance Studio, Zion Baptist Church Choir, Dance 4 Life and Samirah Love.
Beyond the performances, guests explored engaging activities, displays and exhibits in the Aces’ Atrium. The space was decorated with colorful, informative Black History Month posters—a collaborative project led by the Harriton and Lower Merion BSUs—honoring the contributions of influential African Americans and their lasting impact on our nation’s history.
The evening also featured interactive games, activities and a delicious spread of food, making for a truly immersive and celebratory experience.
The third annual Shades of Black was a resounding success, continuing its tradition of uplifting Black culture, history and community in a meaningful and engaging way. Be sure to checkout the slideshow below for images from throughout the evening!
