Preseason Tryout Information

The 2017-2018 Fall Season begins Monday, August 14, 2017.

We will have a mandatory meeting for all players on August 14th at 8am

All student-athletes must have a completed PIAA Physical Form dated on or after June 1, 2017 in order to participate on the first day of the season. Physicals must be submitted to the athletic office prior to August 14, 2017.

Harriton Girls Varsity and JV Tennis

In planning your summer, mark Monday, August 14 as the start of the fall tennis season. There will be a meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium for all fall athletes. Tennis practice will begin on Tuesday, August 15 at 8:00 a.m. on the courts. To get ready for tennis season, play throughout the summer and do some running. Take a hopper of balls to the local tennis courts and practice your serve. Always remember to warm up with a short run around the courts before you play. -Head Coach David Broida

Field Hockey

Field hockey preseason begins August 14 and ends August 25. We will have 2 practice sessions per week day. The morning practice is 8-10 a.m. on the turf field. Afternoon practice is 2-4 p.m. on the grass field in front of the school. Our first practice on August 14 will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the turf. Please come prepared with your completed physical paperwork and the following equipment: goggles, mouth guard, athletic clothing, field hockey stick, shin guards, socks/ shin guard covers, sneakers, and cleats. Boys Soccer

Harriton Boys Soccer pre-season will start on Monday, August 14. All players who wish to be considered for Varsity and / or J.V. MUST be ready to start on that date. All players need to have a physical exam before they may participate. All players must get a PIAA form from the athletic office and have their physician and a parent sign the form. Players will need to have cleats, sneakers, shin guards and a water bottle. There will be two practices a day, Monday through Friday. Each day will start off with a fitness test. Pre-season is optional for Incoming 9th graders who do not wish to be considered for Varsity or J.V. Players not currently on the boys soccer e-mail list should contact varsity head coach Biff Sturla ( ) He will send you the detailed pre-season e-mail which includes information about the pre-season schedule, required paperwork, the pre-season fitness tests, etc.

Girls Soccer:

All girls interested in playing girls soccer in the fall should be ready for our first tryout on August 14th at 7:15am on Harriton’s track for the mile run. In order for players to tryout, all players must have an updated physical form which needs to be completed after June 1st and before August 14th in order to participate in the tryout process. Football officially begins Monday, August 7th. However, players are encouraged to attend summer workouts Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM at Harriton. Cross Country

Cross country practice will begin Monday August 14th from 8-11am. We will meet by the bleachers near the track. Please bring all required paperwork i.e PIAA physical forms if you haven't already submitted them to the athletic office. We will practice Monday – Saturday throughout the season, rain or shine. You will need proper running shoes, a watch, a water bottle, and a reflective vest for practice. Girls Volleyball

Welcome to Harriton Volleyball 2017!

My name is Simon Telfer and this will be my 7th year as the Head Coach of the Volleyball team at Harriton High School. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about the upcoming 2017 Fall season.

We will be starting Pre-season/Tryouts on August the 14th
Tryouts will be held the first 2-3 days times are from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Pre-season will take place M-F until school starts. Times are from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Fall/Football Cheerleading

Fall/Football Cheerleading preseason will begin on August 14th at Harriton in the Highlander Gym. Each participant must have their physical completed and appropriate forms signed in order to participate. Please come to preseason appropriately dressed and ready to participate for indoor and outdoor training/practices.

Preseason Schedule:
August 14th-17th: Preseason team work outs 8:00am-11:00am
Monday August 21st and Tuesday 22nd: Cheerleading Tryouts 8:00am-11:00am
August 23rdand 24th: Team practices 8:00am-11:00am (schedules and contracts will be passed out)
August 28th – 31st: Practice-Time TBD

Harriton supplies each cheerleader with a uniform, but each cheerleader is responsible for purchasing the team sneakers, black briefs and black leggings on their own. Links to specific gear will be provided. After tryouts, each cheerleader will need to have these items before the first Football game.
