| Corinthian | Corinthian is Harriton's esteemed literary magazine in its 62st year of continuous publication (as of 2024). As a club, members meet every week to write and workshop their work. The club takes submissions from the entire student body of both art and creative writing, and at the end of the year, they compile their works into a published magazine; fundraising/funding permitting, we publish a Fall and Spring issue.. | Emilie Frechie |
| Debate Club | The Harriton Debate Team competes in the Pennsylvania High School Speech League versus 25 other area high schools. The types of debate in which we compete are: Parliamentary, Public Forum, and Lincoln-Douglas. Students learn to write debate briefs, develop arguments, research topics, and use evidence, refutation, rebuttal, and public speaking skills. The topics are drawn from current events and change monthly to give students a wide variety of experience and knowledge. We compete in local, district, and the State Championship tournament. | FBLA/DECA | DECA is a global organization aimed at preparing Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs in Business. A chance to show your business skills and learn new ones. | Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) | Our goal for this organization is to promote the awareness and tolerance for all sexual orientation in our school and our community. We hope to encourage a more holistically aware Harriton society where all people feel accepted and we will provide a support group for those questioning their sexual orientation and who are fearful of making this known. Through various events, fundraisers, discussions, and speakers, we anticipate creating a better and more accepting environment. | Jazz Ensemble | The Harriton High School Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group that rehearses for two hours per week. The group consists of students from all grades within the school. Harriton's Jazz Ensemble plays a wide breadth of styles, ranging from swing, to funk, Latin, and ballads. | Mock Trial Team | The goals of Mock Trial are to promote an understanding of the American legal system and courtroom procedure and etiquette while promoting thoughtful analysis and teamwork as students prepare a case for trial. | Pitch Please | Pitch Please, Harriton High School's student-directed a cappella group, was established in 2008 by Harriton alumni Guy Katz and Gabi Bressi. The ensemble performs at each semester's Music Department Concert and is a valued part of the school's diverse music program, encouraging collaboration, student leadership, and accessibility to the performing arts. Pitch Please performs pop and hit music from the 60's to the 2010s in 4 to 6-part harmony. | Vocal Ensemble (Chamber Choir Director) | HARRITON VOCAL ENSEMBLE is a select group of singers who perform everything from the classics to the contemporary including jazz and musical theatre selections and styles of music. The ensemble sings in 4 to 8-part harmony (balanced soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) and usually numbers 16-30 members. Members are required to attend all concerts and practice sessions during Lunch and Learn Rehearsals. | Yearbook Business Manager | The purpose of the Aurora is to produce a professional publication by and for Harriton students. The yearbook staff will learn the real-life skills and responsibilities of producing a 200-page historical document. | Latin Club | Harriton Latin Club is part of the National Junior Classical League, a group for students interested in ancient Greece and Rome. | NSBE Jr. | NSBE is a club that seeks to positively impact our global engineering communities by focusing on advancing the underrepresented ethnic minority population, in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students from Lower Merion High School and Harriton make up the club. The club meets on Thursdays at Harriton with meetings usually running from early October to the end of May. BSU is charged with ensuring the well being of the BLACK community at HHS, creating a safe space for BLACK students, engaging in DEI issues that affect the BLACK community on campus and at-large, and organizing action plans that serve the BIPOC community. | Knitting & Crocheting Club | The Knitting and Crocheting Club welcomes people of all levels to crochet and knit in a diverse and inclusive community. | CERTAMEN | Certamen is a tournament held in the various universities throughout the year. In the 3rd week of July we compete on the Nationals. Students form the groups of four (Grammar, History, Mythology, Culture/Literature) and take studying to the extreme level. We have one day a cycle for group studying of the targeted topics, and each level practices playing twice a week. Currently we hold the proud title of the National Champions of 2024 and it motivates students to continue their progress. The experience and reputation of our club is so high that we often hold multi-state tournaments locally, where our senior students organize and lead the event. | National Art Honor Society | The National Art Honor Society is an organization in which members serve the school and community by promoting the visual arts. | Science Club | This is a student run club with the goal of providing a science show to elementary age students by the end of the year. We meet during learn once a month (at most) and hope that by the end of the year we will have enough momentum to inspire some young scientists.
