Principal's Welcome

Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in our school.
It is a privilege to serve as the principal of one of the nation's finest public high schools. In recent years, Harriton has been recognized at the local, regional and national level for student and staff achievements and has been at or near the top of multiple "best schools" lists.
"On-paper" accolades aside, what makes this place so special is the care that community members – staff, families, and students – have for each other and for our collective well-being. I am routinely approached with ideas about how to strengthen our community, how to better serve others, how to get just a little bit better at what we do. This community's commitment to growth gives me great hope for the future that our students will help to shape.
Students are pushed to think deeply, to collaborate with others, and to ask good questions here. They participate and compete on the state and national stages in many of our clubs, athletics and activities. None of this would be possible without our school community's explicit focus on character: we seek to model and encourage our students to follow through on their commitments, to demonstrate integrity in words and actions, and to model the behaviors they hope to see from others.
Our three core values of Community, Growth, and Character form the backbone of the Harriton experience. I am grateful for the extraordinary team of dedicated staff members, our supportive families, and our incredible, inspiring students who demonstrate these values every single day.
I look forward to a successful and intellectually stimulating school year.
Mr. Stu Warshawer
Acting Principal
