The Rams’ Robotics Club recently welcomed three dozen teams from throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware for one of the area’s first big competitions of the 2023-2024 VEX Robotics Season!
In an effort to keep things fresh for returning students, each season, the brain trust at VEX Robotics designs a new and intricate game that will be played at all VEX Robotics competitions throughout the year. This season’s game is Over/Under, a detailed overview of which can be found here.
After successfully working their way through preliminaries, the Rams ultimately secured a respectable eighth-place finish in the qualifying rounds. While none of Harriton’s representatives advanced past the round of 16 in Over/Under’s head-to-head portion of the competition, all four of the Rams’ teams finished in the top half of in the Skills Challenge, where one robot competes alone against the clock instead of against a player from an opposing club.
The final standings for Harriton in the Skills Challenge were as follows:
- Team 197E - 5th place (Prabhas Banerjee, Navin Jayanthi, Dilan Chawla, Leo Speer-Zisook, Daniel Ash, Luca Fiore, Max Niescior)

Hosting a successful VEX Robotics event would not possible without the dedicated support from a lot of wonderful people, including Harriton faculty and staff; parents/guardians of students in the Robotics’ Club; community volunteers; and members of the District’s Operations Department. Without all of these tremendous educators and volunteers, the Robotics Club would not have been able to provide this awesome opportunity to engage hundreds of students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)!
