Harriton Food Drive Benefits 100 Montgomery County Families

Harriton High School's National Honor Society led a record-breaking Thanksgiving food drive to benefit families across Montgomery County.

Harriton students and staff collected seven pallets full of non-perishable food items, along with $3,379 in monetary donations. Each of the beneficiary families, identified by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, received a box of food along with a $30 Acme gift card to purchase a turkey, meat or other essential items.

The remaining $379 was distributed directly to families in need identified by social workers.

The National Honor Society students delivered the food to Norristown with the assistance of staff from Lower Merion School District's Transportation and Operations departments.

For photos of students assembling the food boxes prior to that deliver, please click through the slide show below.
