Clinical Services Staff
The District has clinical staff such as psychologists and school counselors in each school to support students' educational, social emotional, and behavioral needs. Additionally, there are social workers to support students in school and to assist families in accessing community-based services.
A student's school counselor is their first line of contact for help with academic advising, personal or crisis support, and college or career planning. In addition to our school counselors, these members of the Student Services team provide essential support:
- Career & College Counselor- works with students and parents with the college application process, organizes college visits to our district, hosts informational programs for students and families, and works with students to develop interests in a future career.
- Mental Health & Wellness specialists - available for crisis intervention, substance use counseling, stress management and other personal and group counseling.
- Psychologist - completes targeted assessments for learning or other needs, supports crisis intervention and threat assessment processes, provides psychological counseling and support for students, and provides ongoing consultation to teachers and staff to support student success.
- School Social Workers are important members of the educational team, acting as a bridge between the school, students, families, and the community. Social workers support students' social-emotional and academic well-being. They assess and address challenges that might hinder learning, such as personal or family difficulties. Social workers provide individual and group counseling, connect families with external support and resources, and collaborate with educators to create safe, inclusive learning environments. This holistic approach fosters a safe, inclusive, and nurturing educational environment where all students can thrive.
Contact information for the clinical team within your child's school can be found within your school's Student & Family Handbook on the District's website.
