Dear LMSD Community,
On behalf of the Lower Merion Board of School Directors, I wanted to let you know that Dr. Yanni has been officially appointed as the next superintendent of the Central Bucks School District and has submitted his letter of resignation to LMSD effective June 30, 2024.
We will vote on accepting his resignation at Monday night’s School Board meeting.
We appreciate Dr. Yanni’s willingness to stay through the end of this academic year. Our Board is continuing to work on identifying an appropriate leadership structure for LMSD to ensure the seamless continuity of programs in the District after his departure and through the time a permanent successor is chosen. We are confident the District administration and staff will do all that is needed to run our summer programs successfully and to make sure that the 2024-2025 school year, with its important initiatives of LMSD Smart Start and universal Full-Day Kindergarten, move forward.
We will continue to post updates on this process on the Superintendent Search page of the District website. We look forward to your partnership in the coming weeks and months as we collaborate to choose the best possible leader for our students, staff and community.
