Principal's Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Black Rock Middle School website! I encourage you to visit often to learn more about our school, our educational programs and our students' varied activities. Located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania, we provide a supportive, challenging and nurturing educational environment for grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. I am honored to serve as the Principal of our school and lead a community where parents, teachers and students work together to foster academic growth and emotional well-being.
Consistent with the mission of the Lower Merion School District, Black Rock Middle School strives to ensure that all students achieve their highest level of critical thinking and creativity. We work to ensure that our students value themselves and the diversity of others and that they are knowledgeable, contributing citizens, capable of excelling in a rapidly changing world. We know an effective educational program must be built on a strong partnerships with families. We welcome you to learn more about our school and engage as an active participant in your student's educational experience. Thank you for sharing your student with us.
Our teachers and students work together in learning communities. Teachers in each community collaborate across disciplines to support the same group of students. This configuration helps students by providing consistency and support from a small group of dedicated professionals who work to know each student as an individual and to develop camaraderie and community among members. Teachers share the responsibility to ensure that each student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for visiting our website. The various sub-pages and staff Blackboards will give you additional information about school activities, learning opportunities and school procedures. Please browse through our website to learn more about our school and do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions and/or comments.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sarah Marie Stout
