Black Rock's Rayoon Kim Takes Second at "MathCounts" State Championship

Black Rock Middle School seventh grader Rayoon Kim recently competed in the MathCounts State-Level Competition where he finished second overall out of nearly 300 of the top student-mathematicians from throughout Pennsylvania. With his outstanding performance, Kim also earned the opportunity to compete at the National MathCounts Competition, which will be held on May 13 in Orlando, Florida!

The MathCounts Competition Series has four levels: school, chapter, state and national. Each level of competition is comprised of four rounds—Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown Round. Altogether the rounds are designed to take about 3 hours to complete.
