#LMSDBuildingBelonging is more than just a hashtag! In the first of LMSD's “Building Blocks” video series, Director of School & Community Relations Amy Buckman and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Shawanna James-Coles discussed how Diversity contributes to the District’s ongoing Equity Efforts and the goal of ensuring that everyone in our school communities feels a sense of belonging.

In part two of the series, the conversation continues with a discussion about Equity. Ms. Buckman and Ms. James-Coles talk about the differences between equity and equality and the importance of working to provide students and staff with things they need to be their most successful selves.
