School Supply Lists

6th Grade

  • 2 packs of sharpened pencils (more needed throughout the year)
  • 1 pack of highlighters (to science teacher for team use)
  • 1 folder with holes (for homework)
  • 3" Binder (or binder for multiple subjects)
  • pencil case that can attach to a 3-ring binder
  • erasers
  • paper reinforcers
  • 1 package notebook paper (will need more throughout year)
  • 2 packages 3x5 index cards (to be kept in locker)
  • 1 package markers (to science teacher for team use)
  • 1 package colored pencils (to science teacher for team use)
  • 2 glue sticks (to science teacher for team use)
  • 1 pack post-it notes
  • 1 pack of subject dividers
  • 3 boxes of tissues (to science teacher for team use)
  • 2 containers Clorox wipes (to science teacher for team use)
  • 1 set of earbuds
  • 2 marble notebook (social studies and writing teacher)
  • SPIRAL (NOT MARBLE) graphing notebook with 3 holes to clip in binder (Math)
  • SSR book
  • Shelf for locker (not required)

7th Grade

Teams 7-1, 7-2 and 7-3

  • 5 subject binder OR separate binders for each with pockets and dividers (Science, Math, English, History, Specials)
  • Loose-leaf paper
  • Pencils (minimum of 5) with erasers
  • Pens (minimum of 3 -- black or blue)
  • 3 highlighters of different colors
  • Plastic pen/pencil case
  • Post-It flags, assorted colors, 4 pack (for English)
  • Post-It notes (3-4 packs)
  • Calculator – Recommended Model: Texas Instrument Scientific calculator, Model TI-30XIIS-2-line display-solar powered (This calculator will be used during the course of the year for math work and is also used for the PSSA tests.)
  • Ear Buds (for audio when using laptops)
  • 1 hard cover Marble composition book, wide-ruled, minimum of 100 pages (for students on teams 7-1 and 7-2 only)
  • 1 Spiral Notebook with pockets (for students on team 7-3 only)

These 3 items will be collected by team teachers for use in the classroom. They will become "community property" to be used by all students, thus eliminating the need to carry these materials from class to class.

  • 1 small pack of markers (8 is plenty)
  • 1 small pack of colored pencils (8 is plenty)
  • 1 box of tissues

OPTIONAL: 3 hole punch that snaps in binder to assist in binder organization, flash drive

*There may be additional supplies that specific teachers may require for use in their classroom. Please don't hesitate to contact a team teacher if you are unable to purchase the recommended school supplies.

8th Grade

  • Two large three ring binders with section dividers
  • Lined paper (for all classes)
  • Pencils (#2), pens (blue or black ink only), highlighters
  • Two or three packs of 3x5 note cards (used for flashcards to study for tests)
  • Calculator (4 function and square roots)

**Band/Orchestra: ½" to 1" 3 ring binder

Additional Suggestions: Pencil case, three-hole punch that snaps into binder

Optional: 2 boxes of tissues to donate to the classroom

**Please note: your child's particular team may require additional supplies that are needed for their course of study. Once you know your child's team number, please visit the e-board section of the BCMS website to find additional supply requirements.

Dear Communiqué Class of 2018-2019,

We hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer. We are looking forward to experiencing a meaningful and exciting year with you! Here is a list of items to bring with you on the first day of school:

  • One large binder with five dividing folders (include loose-leaf in each section)
  • One sketchbook (notebook sized or bigger)
  • One package of magic markers
  • Four glue sticks
  • One bottle of white craft glue
  • One package of colored pencils
  • Two highlighters
  • Two sharpened pencils
  • Two black or blue pens
  • One personal pencil sharpener
  • One box of tissues
  • One bullet journal (GRID dotted & hard covered – at least 7" by 5" and 200 pages)
  • One tablespoon of dirt from your yard (in a sealed baggie)
  • Ear-buds (for computer use – to be left in school) Optional:
  • One empty toilet paper roll
  • One package of wrapped mints/hard candies
  • One pair of gardening gloves
  • Free standing mirror
  • Six inch metal ruler

Please label all of these items with your first and last names. You may also wish to start looking for a black beret for the upcoming Poetry Café.
