Principal's Welcome

Dear Bala Cynwyd Students, Families and Community Members,

Welcome to Bala Cynwyd Middle School! I am excited to begin another school year with our dynamic and engaged community. It is a true privilege to serve as Principal of BCMS. Having previously served as Assistant Principal, I step into this role with deep appreciation for the school's traditions and values.

Bala Cynwyd is a unique and vibrant learning community. Since 1938, has provided a supportive, challenging, and nurturing environment where students grow and thrive. Our students, who join us in grades 5–8 from Cynwyd and Merion elementary schools, bring with them a wide range of experiences that shape our collective identity as BC Knights.. Together, we journey through four transformative years marked by academic discovery, character development and meaningful engagement.

As a proud member of the Lower Merion School District, BCMS is committed to advancing the District’s mission of providing a rigorous and inclusive educational experience that empowers all students to become critical thinkers, engaged citizens and lifelong learners. Guided by the District's core values of belonging, innovation and excellence, we strive to cultivate a learning environment where every student feels valued, supported and inspired to reach their full potential.

Our dedicated faculty, counselors and support staff are here to guide and empower each student to thrive during these middle school years.
