Welcome to Bala Cynwyd Middle School! I encourage you to visit our website often to learn more about our school, our educational programs, and our students' varied activities. Located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania, we have been providing a supportive, challenging, and nurturing educational environment in our building since 1938. I am honored to serve as the Principal after being part of the administrative team as an Assistant Principal over the last 9 years (with a brief hiatus to run our LMSD@home program during the height of the pandemic). Our team of dedicated administrators, teachers, counselors and staff are eager to help you and our students navigate the middle school experience here at BC.

Bala Cynwyd is a unique place to learn- and we want to welcome all of you to join in the experience. Our school serves students in grades 5-8 from both Cynwyd and Merion Elementary schools who join us to make up our diverse learning community each year to become BC Knights together. We look forward to guiding students through their four years here with a variety of offerings and opportunities specifically geared toward middle level learners.

I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Student Family Handbook and the Student Activities Sections of our Website.
