The Bala Cynwyd Middle School community continues to mourn the loss of beloved custodian Anthony Cappelli, who passed away suddenly in October 2021. The Knights recently had a special remembrance plaque installed on the flag pole near the school's front entrance in honor of the dearly departed.
"Anthony Cappelli was not only a wonderful person and dedicated member of the Bala Cynwyd Middle School team, but also a well-loved and respected community member who made lasting contributions to our District," said friend and colleague Leslie Bullitt. "He was personable, caring, hard-working and loyal. We grieve for the loss of an extraordinary person and hope with all our hearts for the well-being of the family members he leaves behind and all those who knew and loved him."
Anthony generously lent his skills and expertise as a craftsman helping build sets for BC Applause, the school's theater organization. He was a graduate of Lower Merion High School (Class of '76) and continued his education at a mechanical and electrical institution. He was employed at Keebler Corp. for 33 years before changing careers to work for Lower Merion School District in the Operations Department.
