Jared Fenton (HHS '13) Named to the 'Forbes 30 Under 30' list for Social Impact

Jared Fenton, a 2013 graduate of Harriton High School, was recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact in recognition of his work addressing mental wellness among college students.

While an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, Fenton witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of student mental health struggles, including multiple suicides in his freshman year. Determined to foster open and honest dialogue about emotional well-being, he founded The Reflect Organization in 2015. What began as a single program at Penn has since expanded to multiple colleges and universities nationwide.

Reflect provides students with a safe space to combat loneliness, isolation and the pressure to mask struggles—issues Fenton had identified through both personal experiences and research as a Civic Scholar. His pioneering study on the “Penn Face” phenomenon examined the disconnect between outward success and internal struggles. Grounded in research and expert collaboration, Reflect has since grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit, raising over $1 million to support student mental wellness.
