Neil H. Shubin (LM '78) Named President of The National Academy of Sciences

The National Academy of Sciences has nominated Neil H. Shubin (LM ’78)—evolutionary biologist, author of Your Inner Fish and Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago—to be its next president. Shubin, best known for co-discovering the fossil Tiktaalik and for his acclaimed science communication, will succeed Marcia McNutt when her term ends on June 30, 2026.
