Lower Merion High School alumnus and award-winning composer Dan Schlosberg is one of ten composers contributing to a groundbreaking new opera, Complications in Sue. Produced by Opera Philadelphia, the work is scored in ten short vignettes—each written by a different composer—and follows the life of its central character, Sue, across multiple decades. The opera features a libretto by acclaimed playwright Michael R. Jackson and will be performed this February at Philadelphia’s historic Academy of Music. Schlosberg described the project as “one of the craziest… I have ever attempted,” capturing both the creative challenge and excitement of this ambitious, collaborative endeavor.
