Spirit of Community Pathway Team Update

The focus of the Spirit of Community Pathway team is community engagement via a "Community Resource Network (CRN)." The District's strategic plan calls for strengthening school-community partnerships, leveraging the expertise of community members to enhance learning opportunities and more effectively engaging alumni. The CRN will function as a community network of volunteers willing to share their wisdom, connections and skills to support our schools per the priorities of the District’s strategic plan. A CRN Advisory Board was initiated in Fall 2015 to provide District-level direction for this initiative, while a larger group of volunteers will be compiled to serve on an ad hoc basis to support specific school, staff and/or student initiatives. The District will maintain a comprehensive list of volunteers by field, discipline and area of interest.

During the course of the school year, the advisory board and Pathway team leaders have met to discuss implementation and are currently reviewing an online system that will enable the District to gather data on prospective volunteers/CRN members. Detailing the process for collecting data and managing the network is part of the ongoing work of the group this spring.
