Accessibility Statement

We want everyone who visits the Lower Merion School District website (LMSD.org) to feel welcome.

What are we doing?

To help us make LMSD.org a positive place for everyone, we are implementing the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). Level AA is the level currently recommended for public school districts by the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights. Accordingly, Level AA is our target for LMSD.org.

In 2018, we added the AudioEye toolbar to our site. AudioEye provides a comprehensive set of tools that allow people who use assistive devices to navigate our site. We have also contracted with SiteImprove to locate accessibility issues and other errors so they can be corrected.
