Summer School (6-12)
Lower Merion School District offers summer school for secondary students in two distinct formats: face-to-face or online. The online program is offered through the MCIU’s Montgomery Virtual Program (MVP). These courses run for a 7 week period from (June 15-July 31 and are offered for accelerated learning or credit recovery. The District’s face-to-face program is offered at Harriton High School and runs for 6 weeks from June 22-July 31. These courses are also available for accelerated learning or credit recovery.
Both programs are very rigorous as the content aligns with the yearlong school experience. Thus, students should expect to invest a significant time commitment to their school work daily for the entire duration of the course.
Registration periods vary depending on format. Students are not fully registered until both the online registration fee of $75 and the tuition fees are paid to either MVP or to LMSD. More information about summer school can be found in the Summer School Brochure.
Registration begins March 2, 2020 and ends May 8, 2020. Tuition for Face-to-Face courses is due by May 8, 2020. The registration form is embedded in the registration fee $75 link (to the right)
Tuition payments for MVP courses can be made directly on the MVP website between March 30 and May 8, 2020. Here is the link for MVP https://mvp.mciu.org/parent-registration/ Once at MVP, please select Accelerated Learning (THIS OPTION IS FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE NEVER TAKEN THE COURSE BEFORE--use the pink "Summer Course Advancement" tab) or Credit Recovery. (THIS OPTION IS FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE MAKING UP THE CREDIT AFTER NOT BEING SUCCESSFUL-use the orange "Summer Credit Recovery" tab)
