Before- & After-School Childcare

Right At School Logo

Responding to the needs of our families, LMSD has contracted with Right At School (RAS) to provide before- and after-school care for students in grades K-5 on-site at our elementary schools. Beginning in September 2022, 5th grade students will have the option of taking a school bus from their middle school to the elementary school in their home catchment for after-school care. Please note, the elementary school will become the students’ assigned afternoon bus stop every day.

RAS also provides a kindergarten enrichment program (K Wrap) at the District Administration Office building in Ardmore. In this program, AM Kindergarten students spend the afternoons with RAS and PM Kindergarten students spend the mornings with RAS. RAS has contracted with the District to provide bus transportation between K Wrap and the students’ home schools.

The K Wrap program has a transportation option, allowing students to attend a combination of before- and/or after-care and/or K Wrap to meet their childcare needs.

Having RAS offer these programs is part of the District's commitment to providing safe, engaging and meaningful in-school extracurricular programs to enrich the lives of students, give parents peace of mind and enable schools to continue to focus on their academic mission.

RAS works with the District Administration to provide childcare on some days when elementary schools are not in session or have early dismissals. RAS will provide families with information about fees and about which days and at which location these services will be offered.

RAS offers a curriculum that features hands-on learning, multi-sensory activities, child-driven projects, daily fitness, team building and leadership development. Families can choose before-school care, after-school care, kindergarten enrichment or a combination of those services.
