Fifth-grade students at Bala Cynwyd Middle School (BCMS) are making a big impact this holiday season through their participation in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) annual Pajama Day fundraiser! The Knights are proud to join more than 300 schools and 100,000 students across the state in raising awareness and funds to support children and families receiving care at CHOP.
The Bala Cynwyd contingent kicked off their campaign by selling special CHOP t-shirts and organizing a “Coins for Kids” drive, where each homeroom collected cash and coins for the cause. Their efforts culminated in a spirited Pajama Day on Friday, December 6, when students wore their favorite pajamas to school. The celebration included a special movie screening to recognize the students’ enthusiasm and fantastic fundraising progress thus far.
Bala Cynwyd’s ultimate aim is to raise $7,500 by January 2024, and donations can still be made online through the campaign's official website or by scanning the QR code included in the slideshow below.
BCMS is proud to be part of this larger movement, showing that even small acts of kindness—like wearing pajamas or collecting spare coins—can create meaningful change (no pun intended!). As these students rally together to support CHOP, their efforts highlight the power of community, compassion and generosity during the holiday season.
If you'd like to join the cause, every donation helps CHOP provide vital care to the children and families who need it most! Donate here!
