Penn Wynne's Home & School Association (HSA) recently hosted the 5th Annual Taste of Penn Wynne as hundreds of students, parents and staff gathered to enjoy the varied foods and flavors customary of all of the diverse cultural backgrounds making up the school community.
The cafetorium was alive with the sights, sounds and smells of dozens of different countries as colorful and educational displays created by students and parents shared their unique heritage and culture with all those in attendance. Throughout the celebration some families wore traditional garb specific to their ancestry while others shared informational posters as everyone savored the flavors of treats from around the world.
Students received "passports" at the beginning of the evening, which they would get stamped as they traveled amongst the displays throughout the cafetorium. France, Israel, India, Korea, China, Peru, Thailand, Nigeria and Jamaica were among many countries and locales represented from throughout the world.
