With Lower Merion School District starting the school year in virtual instruction, some families may be in need of child care during the school day. Recent changes in the licensing regulations for child care providers now allow them to offer this kind of care to school-aged children during school hours.
Additionally, low-income families can apply for subsidized child care funding at www.compass.state.pa.us. Montgomery County encourages and recommends that families apply if they think they may be eligible.
Families can obtain a hard copy of the application for subsidized child care on the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) website at: https://www.montcopa.org/120/Subsidized-Child-Care. There is also some basic information about the ELRC and forms that applicants would need to support their applications.
