LMHS hosts MCIU's Annual Reading Olympics

More than 45 teams of students from all six District elementary schools recently participated in the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit's (MCIU) annual Reading Olympics. The primary goals of this fun-filled and educational activity are to foster a sense of team and school spirit while promoting a lifelong love of reading.

Hundreds of LMSD fourth and fifth grade students gathered at Lower Merion High School for this year's competition as they answered questions relating to the more than 75 books selected to be on this year's reading list. The teams from each school were guided by teacher coaches who have been working with their students for weeks in preparation for the event reviewing characters, plots and settings from the books.
