Merion Elementary School recently held its eighth Annual STEM Fair as fourth grade students presented their projects and experiments to classmates, family and friends throughout a fun-filled and educational evening. As part of this unit, students researched, studied and explored a variety of fields including chemistry, botany, consumer and behavioral sciences, and physics. Merion's young scientists and engineers employed the engineering design process as they created an array of clever devices to solve a host of problems, such as an ergonomically-designed product to help students better carry heavy backpacks, a product that provides an innovative solution to cushion and protect fragile packages, a creative invention to help prevent drink spillage and many more. All those in attendance were excited and impressed to see the novelty and imagination exhibited by the Merion students.
