Merion celebrates diversity at Annual Cultural Heritage Night

Merion's Cultural Heritage Night is one of the school's largest and most diverse events of the year bringing together the community across generations and cultures for a fun-filled and educational evening. At this year's event sponsored by the Merion Home & School Association (HSA), students and their families represented a host of countries from around the world including Argentina, China, Columbia, England, Haiti, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Scotland, South Korea, Sweden, Turkey, and Ukraine. There was an extensive variety of foods available from several continents and the delicious cuisine was enjoyed throughout the school halls, lobby and in the gymnasium as people socialized and learned about the multitude of cultures on hand. The informative displays were colorful and eagerly explained by Merion students as they interacted with guests throughout the evening's activities.

Each child in attendance received a "passport" that was stamped as they visited the different countries and cultures from around the world at each display. There was also a costume parade as students donned culture-specific dress representing their families' background.
