LMSD is Proud to Recognize March as Music In Our Schools Month!

For more than 30 years, March has been officially designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) for the observance of Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM), the purpose of which is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children, and to serve as a reminder that school is where all children should have access to music! This year's theme is “Music Is All of Us.”

Music educators from across the country use MIOSM as a platform to bring students, families, local community members, and state and local elected officials’ attention to their school’s music program and the benefits that music provides to students of all ages.

LMSD has long been recognized for excellence in music education having earned NAMM’S Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) distinction every year for more than a decade! This is a testament to our exceptional faculty and staff; stellar students; and the many encouraging parents, guardians and community members that support music education in LMSD!

While the District is proud to observe March as Music in Our Schools Month, around here, we celebrate music education year-round! Thank you to everyone, especially our students and staff, for all that you to make LMSD such a magical, musical place!
