Back in December, Lower Merion High School celebrated their annual Winterfest – a school-wide food drive and fundraiser organized by teachers Tom Kline and Brian Feeney providing students and staff to the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season in its truest form - through service and giving back to the community.
The Aces rallied together to make this year's Winterfest the largest, most successful event since the program's inception five years ago. The LMHS community ultimately amassed more than 5,000 pounds of food for the Food Pantry at Saints Memorial Baptist Church in Bryn Mawr, which provides food for those-in-need both in the Lower Merion community and Philadelphia, and raised more than $2,000 for Cancer Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia!
Kline and Principal Sean Hughes were recently joined by LMHS junior and cancer survivor Kaitlyn Malloy as they presented the $2,000 check to Ellie Paparone, Development Coordinator for School Fundraising at CHOP, during a special presentation in the main office.
Kline and Feeney also recently stopped by Saint's Memorial Baptist Church in Bryn Mawr as the congregation thanked the duo for the efforts in this year's generous food donation!
