Welsh Valley Library Features Display for AAPI Heritage Month

Welsh Valley Library Features Display for AAPI Heritage Month

Welsh Valley students who want to learn about the many contributions that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have made to American culture can find a wealth of literary resources in a special display created by librarian Kathryn Maahs and library aide Lauren Tedesco.

The display features biographies and bibliographies of dozens of Asian American authors, as well book synopses along with the books attractively lined up on the shelves.

This literary tribute to AAPI culture is just one way LMSD staff work to build belonging for students from a variety of backgrounds to help them feel welcomed and celebrated in our schools.

You can see the display in the slideshow below.

Rows of colorful books with blue informational cards are displayed on wooden shelves, with a sign in the background encouraging readers to check out the books.
