LMHS Best Buddies honored among "Champions of the Year" at TasteBuds

Lower Merion High School students Georgia Callahan and Lauren Cobitz were recently honored among the Best Buddies "Champions of the Year" at TasteBuds – a unique tasting event and fundraiser pairing talented chefs from throughout the Greater Philadelphia area with "buddies" with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This signature event allows guests to witness the Best Buddies mission of inclusion first-hand as they get to enjoy live music, a silent auction and taste local cuisine prepared by the professional cooks with assistance from their "sous chef" buddies.

Best Buddies is the world's largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Their programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
