Letter to Community Regarding Assistant Superintendent Dr. Scott Eveslage

Dear LMSD Families,

I'm sharing this announcement with you with mixed emotions. Our Assistant Superintendent Dr. Scott Eveslage has been selected as the finalist for the superintendent position in the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Their School Board is expected to vote on Dr. Eveslage's appointment next week.

Lower Merion's loss will be Hatboro-Horsham's gain. Dr. Eveslage has served as our assistant superintendent since 2016. In that position, he has led all aspects of our District's curriculum and instruction, professional development, academic leadership and equity work. Prior to becoming assistant superintendent, he was the principal of Harriton High School and before that, he was principal at Welsh Valley Middle School. Throughout his time in the District, Dr. Eveslage has strived to promote and sustain student achievement, equity and access to educational programming for all students.

The District will begin the search process for a new assistant superintendent very soon.

On behalf of everyone in the Lower Merion School District community, I would like to formally thank Dr. Eveslage for his dedication to our students and families. I will certainly miss his thoughtful voice at our cabinet meetings and his leadership in our District. But I know he will serve his new District with the same level of excellence he has devoted to LMSD for the past decade. And I look forward to being able to collaborate with him as a fellow superintendent in the years to come.

Yours truly,

Robert Copeland

Superintendent
