Important Information about Influenza (Flu) Vaccines

We regret to inform you that this year, LMSD will not be offering flu vaccines for students. In recent years, LMSD has been able to offer an annual fall evening student flu (and other vaccines) clinic in partnership with the Montgomery County Health Department and Detweiler Family Health. Unfortunately, Detweiler is no longer working with the Health Department and, to our knowledge, the Health Department has been unable to secure a replacement provider.

Flu vaccines are still recommended by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics for both children and adults. The vaccine is widely available in the area through your child's health care provider and various other locations including (but not limited to):

  • CVS Minute Clinic: 1218 E. Lancaster Avenue, Rosemont 610 519-1920
  • Rite Aid Redi Clinic: 169 W. Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore 833-423 7334
  • AFC Urgent Care: 934 Montgomery Avenue, Narberth 484 424 0165
  • Main Line Health Urgent Care: 306 E. Lancaster Avenue Suite 200 Wynnewood 484-476-7200

Please call ahead to schedule an appointment. There may be insurance and age restrictions.

The Health Department will continue to offer flu and other vaccinations at their locations to uninsured and eligible students (please see attachments).
