Thirty-four Harriton High School students recently competed in the DECA Emerging Business Leaders & Entrepreneurs District Competition as the Rams ultimately claimed ten top-three finishes in both individual and team events.
DECA's stated mission is to help prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the world. Students compete in a range of competitive business-related events, including Entrepreneurship, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Business Law & Ethics, Travel & Tourism, Buying & Merchandising, Marketing Management and Financial Services, among others.
Participating students were tasked with completing a timed 100-question business exam as well as recording a "role play" relative to their respective event. The Harriton students, under the leadership and guidance of Business & Information Technology teacher Rhonda Keefer, have been diligently studying studying for the business exams and practicing for the role plays since early September.
The winning students will now advance to the state competition, which will take place virtually from January 25 - February 5, 2021. Congratulations to all participating students and the top-three finishers!
