Harriton hosts 21st Annual Day of Service

Harriton High School recently participated in the 21st Annual Day of Service as more than 1,300 students and staff members rallied together to volunteer their time and provide service throughout the surrounding community.

The Rams kicked off the Day of Service with an inspirational address from Mrs. Liz Scott, who serves as Co-Executive Director of Alex's Lemonade Stand – a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures of children battling cancer. Following Mrs. Scott's remarks, students and staff divided into smaller groups to begin their service activities. With more than 35 service-oriented activities available, students had to the opportunity to help at animal shelters; dance with senior citizens; pack and deliver food; beautify local parks; paint inspirational murals; read to children; prepare meals of lasagna and chicken soup; bake bread for a local soup kitchen; and much more.
