Harriton High School teacher Lee Mescolotto was one of 10 teachers from around the country honored recently by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) for excellence in teaching students with advanced academic abilities.
Mr. Mescolotto teaches biology and genetics. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Pittsburgh and his master's degree in biology from Villanova University. The Harriton freshman who nominated Mr. Mescolotto for the award says his teacher "expects a lot out of students, and by the way that he teaches, the students will never ever disappoint because the way that he organizes things is so efficient and effective."
He was honored during the Sarah D. Barder Fellowship Conference, held Feb. 23-24 in Pasadena, Calif.
