Students in the English Language Development program at Bala Cynwyd Middle School shared dishes from their native countries with classmates and staff last week.

Teacher Joan Thomas, who shared a photo of the proud students, said, "The kids did an awesome job. There were lots of smiles and we all had a wonderful time."

The Lower Merion School District is proud to serve families from around the world with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Currently, 29 languages are spoken by Lower Merion students. Some students come to the District speaking little English, while others have more advanced skills. The District offers services to English learners of all levels. All of these students and families enrich our community

Lower Merion Summer Cafe

A free summer meal program where all kids 18 years of age and younger can receive a meal and join other children for sports, games, and other activities!

Representatives of the Lower Merion School District will hold a public information session at 7:00 p.m. on June 26, in the cafeteria at Penn Wynne Elementary School, to discuss their application to extend the approval of the temporary classrooms at PWES.


The Lower Merion Board of School Directors is pleased to announce that the Lower Merion Education Association has agreed to accept the recommendations of the non-binding arbitrator for a new three-year contract, which the Board approved at its meeting Monday night.
