Thirty students from Welsh Valley Middle School's Technology Student Association (TSA) recently traveled to National Harbor, Maryland to participate in the 2019 National TSA Conference joining nearly 8,500 middle school and high school TSA students at this year's event. More than 250,000 TSA student members compete in regional and state competitions during the year with the goal of qualifying for the National Conference.
The Dragons turned in an outstanding all-around performance as they claimed six top-ten finishes and were also awarded the Spirit of Service Award (Purple Level) from the American Cancer Society (ACS) for their exemplary fundraising efforts. The students held a Care Fair Carnival during Welsh Valley's Community Day in June as they raised more than $4,000 for the ACS. All of the carnival games used during the Care Fair Carnival were built and operated entirely by students, which took more than 500 hours to complete.
Congratulations to all of this year's participating students!
