Cynwyd Elementary School recently hosted their sixth annual "Dinner of Traditions" as students, staff, family and friends gathered to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes up the Owls' community. Families explored the buffet lines to sample the assorted offerings from countries all over the world such as pierogies, sweet kugel, spanakopita, rice pilaf, curry with rice, schupfnudel and delicious breads and salads, along with a variety of desserts including flan, carrot cake, hamantaschen and more. The eight-member team topped all other competing districts in this year's competition, which challenges the knowledge and skills of drivers in a series of events focusing on student safety, driver professionalism and service excellence.
The two-time Caldecott Honor recipient recently spoke with students about her career as an author/illustrator, the creative process and more during a fun-filled and educational assembly.
