Cynwyd Fifth Grade takes center stage in "Madagascar: A Musical Adventure"
Cynwyd Fifth Grade takes center stage in "Madagascar: A Musical Adventure"

The fifth-grade class at Cynwyd Elementary School recently took center stage during a pair of performances of "Madagascar: A Musical Adventure" in front of enthusiastic crowds of classmates, faculty, staff, family and friends.

Based on the popular DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar tells the story of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and a group of plotting penguins as they escape from their home in New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey.

The fun-filled and entertaining musical was directed by Cynwyd music teacher Mrs. Anne Sterner-Porreca along with Ms. Lauren Babcock and Mr. John Keeler. The performance was truly a school-wide effort with support from many faculty and staff, as well as the students in the stage crew and members of the fourth-grade chorus.
